Dining Services
Our kitchen staff prides itself on the use of the freshest ingredients to create consistently tasty, nutritious and homelike meals.
Residents begin their day with “breakfast in bed” in their rooms.
Lunch and dinner are served in our spacious and bright dining rooms with panoramic views of the Bronx, Queens and Manhattan.
The mid day and evening meals are served buffet style which allows residents to choose from a variety of freshly made items including several entrees and side dishes. Alternative off- menu choices are always available as well
Dishes from the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia reflect the diverse ethnic palates of our residents.
24 hour access for between meal snacks if offered in nourishment stations on each resident floor.
It is our philosophy at Rebekah Rehab to offer each resident the least restrictive diet possible while taking into account the individual’s medical conditions. Residents with special needs such as those with impaired chewing or swallowing are offered alternative consistency meals and are closely monitored by staff from nursing, speech therapy and food and nutrition departments.
Activities and Recreation
Our multilingual recreation staff provides quality individual and group activities appropriate for the residents on their units. The daily program of activities is designed to offer a variety of social, physical, educational, spiritual and community based activities.
The recreation department is pleased to offer a comprehensive activity program 7 days a week, 365 days a year which includes all holidays and weekends. We offer evening activities in addition to those during the daytime hours.
One to one individual room visits are provided for residents that are unable to attend group activities due to medical conditions or by personal choice.
Intergenerational programming has become a vital part of our resident’s activities at Rebekah Rehab. We currently have nearly 200 student volunteers, teachers and educational professionals who regularly visit our facility and participate in work study programs, intergenerational reading and vocational training.
